Equipment:
At Thermal Falcon we use some of the latest technology from the leader in drones. The DJI Matrice 4T, T standing for Thermal, allows us to search from up to 400ft up in the air, usually undetected by the pet. Thermal detection is used in many fields including the military, firefighting, law enforcement and search and rescue.
A thermal drone operates by utilizing thermal sensors to detect heat emitted by objects, including living beings like pets, wildlife and humans. As the drone flies over an area, it captures thermal images that highlight temperature variations. Warmer objects, such as a lost pet, stand out against cooler backgrounds, allowing for quick identification, even in low-light conditions or dense vegetation. The drone's camera translates these thermal signals into visible images, which can be analyzed in real-time by operators on the ground, enhancing the efficiency of search efforts. This technology is especially useful for locating pets that may be difficult to spot with the naked eye. This drone is also equipped with a infrared camera and a infrared spotlight which is invisible to the naked eye. This technology allows us to positively identify what we are looking at, whether it be a dog, cat, raccoon, etc. To positively confirm whether its your pet or not(sometimes done with the IR spotlight) it is also equipped with regular extremely bright LED spotlights. Thermal Falcon is dedicated to compassionate support and innovative solutions with some of the best technology for pet recovery, giving us the best opportunity so every furry friend returns home safely and quickly.

Mya rescued from Fort Myers Beach

June 3, 2025
This is Mya. She was missing for 9 days before she was found. Mya was on the beach with her owners when a gust of wind came a blew their beach umbrella which scared her. Mya ran and wound up getting lost in some mangroves. Her owners searched for days and put up signs everywhere and blasted social media with her loss. They also got a pet rescue/trapper involved. Several drones were used to search for her but she wasn’t found in the area. I personally searched on two different days with no luck. Then on night eight of her being missing, someone spotted her and she was also seen on a game camera which was a great sign. On night nine I flew my thermal drone for about an hr until the rain started which at that point I had to land. While sitting in my truck waiting for the rain to stop, I spotted Mya come out of the dark. I notified the owners, who were watching a trap, that she was headed their way. I immediately got the drone up as the rain had just stopped. I was able to follow Mya until she finally saw her owners and jumped into their car. I couldn’t be happier to see them reunited after 9 days being missing.
Luna who was missing from Ft Myers area
June 8, 2025
This is Luna. Luna is an Aussiedoodle who went missing in Ft Myers around June 6. On Sunday, June 8th I was called out by the owner to come search an area near the Lee County Jail where Luna was seen. She was seen at 4am on Saturday morning in a parking lot of the jail. Got out about 830pm Sunday evening and searched a big area around the jail but no luck finding her after almost 3 hrs of searching. Received a text from the owner about 12am that Luna had been spotted at around 7am Sunday morning on the other side of I75, an area I wanted to search but they didn’t think she would go there. I told the owner to let me know as soon as they get another sighting that’s more recent and I will come out. On Monday June 9th, I received a text that Luna had been seen at 11am Sunday back on the original side of I75. As you can see Luna is moving around a lot. I told the owner if you want I can come out that night but we really should wait till you get a more recent sighting because she could be anywhere in this amount of time, she agreed. On Tuesday at about 6am, I received a call from the owner that she had been sighted in the area of where she escaped from. I immediately went out there and started searching for her with the drone. She was last seen running along side this little lake on the edge of the property that bordered some abandoned apartments. I wanted to search the apartments but the owner preferred that I search the wooded area along side instead. Searched the area almost 2 hrs till around 830am. We decided that since it was getting hot already that maybe Luna took cover somewhere and was resting. 1hr later after I left, I received a text from the owner that Luna had been spotted in the abandoned apartments and they were able to get her. I was so happy to hear Luna had been found. The important thing to me in all this, as in any case, is that the owner and Luna were reunited.
Lost Cat in Fort Myers
June 10, 2025
This is Pillow. The owners think she got out of their owners house around 12am that day. I was called out by the owners that evening and I arrived at around 9pm, when the owner got home from work, to do a search of the area. After speaking with the owners, notifying local PD and getting FAA clearance I began doing a search street by street and yard by yard. As I was searching, the owners were talking with a neighbor in front of the house. After about an hour or so the owner noticed Pillow appear out of a drainage culvert right next door to their house. They think that all of us talking outside may have caused her to sneak in there from the other side to see what was going on. Though not recovered by the drone, I was very happy to see Pillow was returned home safely to her owners. Had we not all been out there talking, the owners said they would have never saw her because they would have been inside eating dinner.
